I set the title to this article as "We are undder construction" and chose "pages" in the dropdown Section menu. It is set to "Yes" for Published and Front Page. The only Category option is "front page blog." So, there ya go.
If you change the Section dropdown to "Uncategorised," two things happen. It disappears from the front page, even though both Published and Front Page are marked "Yes." The only Category option changes from "front page blog" to "Uncategorised."
So the short of it is: if you want it on the front page, set Section to "pages" and chose "Yes" for Published and Front Page.
The Module Manager will let you control which "modules" (features) appear where on the website. Like, the email login is currently available, and is set to display on the left-hand column of the website. To access the module manager go to Extensions->Module Manager. This will give you a list of all installed modules, and whether they are activated, who can see them (Public, Registered, Special), where they are located on the page, etc.

This is even more information about us, for the About Us -> More About Us menu item.

Wow, this is big!
This is the top article on the front page. It gets spread across both columns. If there are at least two other articles on the front page, they get split between two columns. If you want to change the way the slideshow up to behaves, go into the "DJ Slideshow" Module, by clicking on Extensions->Module Manager. The one you want is at the bottom of the list (DJ Image Slider). Right now, it is showing images in order from the folder at http://centrist.net/images/stories/slideshow/
